We have found some great location inspiration you can add to your list next time you are travelling the east coast.
With the reputation of having the most beautiful beaches in the world, super clear waters and white sand, Jervis Bay is the perfect place to relax and spot some dolphins. Do not miss visiting the Booderee National Park , which offers beautiful walks.
For snorkelling there is a little place further South: Hyams Beach which is popular with amateurs and professionals. Jervis Bay has been a Marine park for nearly 20 years and has one of the most unique and healthy ecosystems in Australia. That’s why the crystal clear waters of Jervis Bay are home to over 100 bottlenose dolphins and humpback whales.
Visit Rainbow Beach to enjoy its beach and the surf. Once there you can admire the coloured cliffs flowing into the ocean or walk on the large sand dune Carlo Sandblow offering a beautiful view of a beach on one side and on the Great Sandy National Park on the other side.
Book a tour to drive across a pristine stretch of white sand with a 4WD all the way from Noosa to Double Island Point. Admire the stunning scenery of the Great Sandy National Park, and take in the impressive views from the Double Island Point Lighthouse. Have a look out for turtles, sharks, manta rays, and dolphins, along with humpback whales between June and October.

Located west inland from Cairns, Atherton tablelands offers stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. Do not miss Millstream Falls, 5km west of Ravenshoe, the widest waterfalls in the country and the Waterfalls Circuit, a 15km narrow road that leads to Elinjaa Falls, Zillie Falls or Millaa Millaa Falls, where you can swim in the heart of the rainforest. You may also be able to see platypus in Platypus Park near Atherton, or rock wallabies at Granite Gorge Nature Park near Mareeba.

Nestled right at the mouth of Clarence River, Yamba is a gorgeous resort town, a long time favorite of backpackers and families. Because of its unique position, the place is a paradise for fishing enthusiasts.
The waters surrounding the town are brimming with dolphins, and it’s not unusual to encounter them while swimming, even quite close to the shore. The period from May to October is whale watching season. The area around the town is known for its rich Aboriginal history and culture.
Portland is located on the far south-west coast of Victoria, mid-way between Port Fairy and the small town of Nelson which is adjacent to the state border with South Australia.
Portland is a place of historic discovery with over 200 buildings within the town classified by the National Trust, many of which are constructed out of bluestone.
The Portland Cable Tram offers visitors a scenic and informative journey through the foreshore, providing views along the coast and passing attractions such as Botanic Gardens, Portland Powerhouse Car Museum, Maritime Discovery Centre, Whalers Bluff Lighthouse, and the World War 2 Memorial Lookout Tower at Anderson Point.
